Do I need a site visit?
For most renovation and addition projects, yes. We need to measure existing conditions to ensure accuracy. However, if you have existing architectural plans (CAD/PDF) or if it is a new construction project on an empty lot, we may be able to start without a visit.
What is your typical turnaround time?
Turnaround depends on the complexity of the project:
• Permit Drawings (Decks/Porches): 1–2 Weeks
• Additions & Renovations: 2–3 Weeks
• New Home Design: 3–6 Weeks
We always provide a specific timeline estimate in our initial quote.
Do you provide support for permits?
Absolutely. Our drawings are specifically created to meet Massachusetts building codes. We provide the full set of plans, REScheck energy reports, and construction affidavits required for your building permit application. If the city has questions, we answer them.
Are revisions included in the price?
Yes. Our standard quote includes one round of design revisions based on your feedback, plus any revisions required by the building department to secure the permit. Major design changes after work has begun may incur an additional hourly fee.
What is your service area?
We are based in Boston and serve the Greater Massachusetts area, including Cambridge, Somerville, Newton, Brookline, Quincy, and Westford. For remote design services (if you have existing plans), we can work statewide.
Do you offer Construction Management?
Yes. Beyond design, we offer Construction Management services. This includes contractor coordination, site visits to ensure plans are followed, and quality control during the build. You can select this as an add-on service when requesting a quote.
